ApologetiX Christian parody band

ApologetiX , an award-winning Christian parody band, is playing at Manton Consolidated Schools’ Fifth Street gym 7 p.m. Saturday. The Pittsburgh-based band specializes in Biblical parodies of rock hits from yesterday and today, including everything from Elvis to Eminem.

• What: ApologetiX , a Christian parody band from Pittsburgh, plays Manton.

• About: Band plays and sings entertaining Biblical lyrics to contemporary songs including AC/DC, Rolling Stones, Kiss, Green Day, Toby Keith and more. Smoke machine, lights, high-energy rock concert. Band won the American Christian Music award for Alternative Artist of the Year in 2004 and the Best Album award in Christianity Today’s 2005 Readers’ Choice Christian Music Awards, among others.

• When: Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Saturday; concert starts at 7 p.m.

• Where: Fifth Street gym in Manton schools

• Proceeds: If there are proceeds after paying the band, money goes to the youth group programs of Seeds of Faith Community Fellowship and Manton Free Methodist Church.
