Jeremy Camp is bringing ” a night of worship and a night of fun ” to Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario on Thursday.

The Rock & Worship Roadshow brings singer Camp, as well as other contemporary Christian rock acts MercyMeHawk Nelson, Tenth Avenue North and Addison Road to the area for $10 a ticket.

“A lot of people just can’t afford to spend $20, $25 or $35,” Camp said in a recent telephone interview.

Camp has won a number of Dove Awards from the Gospel Music Association, as well as a string of more than a dozen No. 1 hits and had three albums go gold.

He released the album, “Speaking Louder Than Before,” in late 2008 and hopes that it resonates with a different audience.

“My heart wanted to reach out to the youth,” he said.

Camp aimed to have the new record encourage people.

“The basics of our Christianity is serving people and loving them,” he said.

Camp is also trying to reach out in the communities that he’s touring in. In one, he asked fans to make Valentine’s Day cards for kids in a local hospital. The response was overwhelming. He wants to have the opportunity to do something in each city.

“I’m tired of it being just about Jeremy Camp,” he said.
