Christian singer Renee Bondi offers a message through her music and her ministry: A tragic accident does not have to be the end of the story.

Bondi performs in a free concert Sunday at Holy Family Catholic Church in Richmond. Bondi, who is making her fourth Richmond appearance, combines pop, contemporary and inspirational styles to appeal to all age groups.

About 20 years ago, the award-winning teacher and singer suffered an accident two months before her wedding that left her a quadriplegic and left her voice at a near whisper.

At the time, doctors thought she would never sing again but her voice was miraculously restored and she has been sharing her gift ever since.

Even with this major change in her life, she married and gave birth to a son. She encourages others to find reasons for rejoicing in life regardless of the circumstances.

The California resident maintains busy schedule, traveling throughout the country singing and speaking for Christian conferences, church events and youth rallies.

Bondi has been featured in “Chicken Soup for the Christian Soul,” made appearances on Dr. Robert Schuller’s “Hour of Power” weekly broadcast and EWTN’s “Life on the Rock.”

Some of her albums include “My Christmas Wish,” “When the Swallows Come Back to Capistrano,” “The Last Dance But Not the Last Song,” “Let it Rain,” “Surrender to Your Love,” “Back on My Feet Again!” “Strength for the Journey,” and “Inner Voice.”

The concert is sponsored by John and Gertrude Hubbard Fund, which helps provide religious programs for area residents. The fund memorializes the Hubbards, who were active in the local Catholic community.
