LifeLight Festival, in a sense, is a Christian music festival of extremes_hard core metal bands play alongside contemporary artists in a three day music line-up. The free festival, which includes music on five stages and other non-music events like worship seminars, begins Friday at Wild Water West.

Appealing to a diverse crowd has been a focus for organizers, and fans will have a smorgasbord of music choices. Family Force 5 brings its space-age clad squad before rock band Switchfoot on Friday’s main stage. Organizers say Contemporary Christian legend Michael W. Smith, who headlines Saturday night on the main stage, will bring an older fan base to the show. The Coffeehouse and Children’s stages have larger tents this year, offering even more choices for fans.
