Michael W. Smith and Steven Curtis Chapman The United Tour

August 19, 2008 – 1:40 pm

Christian music artists Michael W. Smith and Steven Curtis Chapman bring ” The United Tour ” to Procter & Gamble Hall on Oct. 10, and all-things-Roman Catholic send-up “Late Nite Catechism” gets a two-week run in the Jarson-Kaplan Theater beginning Oct. 7.

Together, Chapman and Smith have garnered eight Grammy Awards, 96 Dove Awards, 77 No. 1 singles and more than 30 gold and platinum albums.

Both artists will perform music from their current and upcoming albums: Chapman’s “This Moment” from 2007 and Smith’s “A New Hallelujah,” scheduled for release Oct. 28.

Wildly popular in its first Cincinnati run in January 2005, audience participation romp “Late Nite Catechism” returns Oct. 7-19. “Catechism” has been touring internationally for 14 years. The show features Kimberly Richards.

Its premise is that an irrepressible “Sister” teaches a roomful of “students” (the audience) who are rewarded for correct answers and “punished” for misbehavior.

“Late Nite” goes on sale Aug. 22, “The United Tour” goes on sale Sept. 5.

Also on sale is the “Last Comic Standing Tour,” with finalists and this year’s winner, Iliza Shlesinger, from the NBC elimination show. It plays Procter & Gamble Hall on Oct. 16.
