Nashville Christian rock crew RED’s new sophomore set Innocence & Instinct hit stores last week with some apparent momentum — the disc debuted at the top of Nielsen SoundScan’s Record Label Independent Current Albums and Top Current Contemporary Christian Albums charts, and hit Billboard’s Top 200 at No. 15.

The mainstream traction is a continuing thing for the local band, who toured behind 2006 debut album End Of Silence with a mix of mainstream and Christian crossover acts that included Switchfoot, Flyleaf, 3 Doors Down, Papa Roach and Buckcherry, among others.

RED heads out this spring in support of the album with radio-rock act Trapt; their next hometown stop is in June, for “worship & rock & roll music camp” Camp Electric.
