Robin Mark free concert Hopelands Gardens

August 29, 2008 – 11:08 am

Worship leader Robin Mark brings his songs of worship and praise to Aiken for a free concert and sing-along this weekend.

Mark performs at 6 p.m. Saturday at Hopelands Gardens. In the event of rain, the concert will be moved indoors to event sponsor St. Thaddeus Episcopal Church.

Mark is touring in support of his current CDs “The Mandate: Living the Adventure” and “East of the River,” and his latest book, “Warrior Poets of the 21st Century.” He has released 13 contemporary Christian albums internationally, featuring the hits “All For Jesus,” “The Wonderful Cross,” “Revival” and “Days of Elijah.” His 1999 live album, “Revival in Belfast,” provided his U.S. breakthrough after years of European fame, and in 2004, he received the International Artist of the Year Award from the Gospel Music Association in America.

A native of Northern Ireland, Mark recently observed his 20th anniversary as worship leader of his local church in Belfast, Christian Fellowship Church Strandtown. He is married, and the couple has three children.

From Aiken, Mark will move on to a Sept. 4 concert in Jackson, Tenn.

Saturday’s concert in the park is free and open to the public. For more information, call St. Thaddeus Episcopal Church at 648-5497 or e-mail macdou_g@earthlink.net.
